Usborne travel incentive announced

Wow what a great leadership training meeting Usborne ran yesterday!! Great meeting in the morning then the travel incentive was announced after lunch followed by a brilliant talk by Mark Rhodes (NLP speaker) rhodes2success It was such a red hot talk that the fire alarm went off!!!!!! We had to evacuate and return for the end of the talk. Yet another brilliant Usborne day. Now I am looking for people who would like to win the Usborne trip to Hong Kong as a reward for growing their own home based business and earning money whilst having fun!!! Who wouldn’t????

Here are some of the excited winners of the Usborne Leaders accolade, many of whom also won a day trip, all expenses paid to Paris with dinner up the Eiffel Tower and a trip down the Seine!! How I love being an Usborne Representative. I work hard and then I play hard. That’s me on the left side of the picture. Its not long now until 43 of us head off to be spoilt rotten by Usborne on a five day cruise visiting Mexico and Miami!! How I love my job and when I am not partying or holidaying, I love presenting my scrummy Usborne books to parents, teachers, children via school book fairs, coffee mornings, book parties, sponsored reads/listens etc. If I do this well through the spring and summer then I will be off on the Orient Express in the Autumn (the next incentive to be worked for!!) and I don’t ntend to be left behind and will work hard to help my team achieve this goal too.

What a busy Usborne day!!

Well, Thursday and the day started early as it usually does on Thursdays. It was visitors day at the Island business network group. There I met up with not only my IBN friends but also some guests. I have long been telling my team that we need to take our Usborne “shops” into the care homes for those not fortunate enough to be able to get to the shops. Not only our shops but our level of service where we can help and advise our customers on product choices for their family members – grandchildren, nieces, nephews etc. This morning one of the guests asked me if we were in the care homes yet!! I’ll let you know how that develops as she was well connected!
I delivered a rack full of bargains to the Playstation nursery, which was well received by Carrie, the manager. I then had to pop home to list another rack of bargains for a school staffroom but before I got a chance to deliver it, I had a phone call from Sharon Chick of Business Support services, a fellow member of the IBN. She was out and about and was having a conversation with someone who was looking for a way of earning extra so she gave me a call and this afternoon I was happy to welcome Maria, my new team member!Its a brilliant time to join as we have a FREE starter kit for September.
Word of mouth is such a powerful form of advertising. Sharon herself, is fast becoming a very good customer of mine as she has a grandchild a day older than my twin grandchildren and of course when I expose her to my Usborne books she just can’t resist!! She is also helping me to get on top of my paperwork and an excellent job she is making of that.
Between Sharon phoning and my visiting to Maria and deliver to the school, I popped into Pascalls in Ryde where Claire, a newbie in the team had organised a lunch time book display for the staff. We are pleased Pascalls allowed her to take in her books and she will be making a donation to their chosen charity.
On the way back from the school delivery, I popped into Tesco. Before I actually got into the store, I actually caught up with team members Nikki and Angela on the phone. They had also both had busy Usborne days and we were just sharing news and success stories. Having sat chatting on the phone in the car park, thought I had beeter pop in the store and do my shopping. I was served at the cash desk by THOMAS – It is so lovely to have someone with a sense of humour to serve you in these times of doom and gloom. Well there was no doom and gloom at that checkout and so I told Thomas I would blog about him!! He made very sure I knew who he was – he waved his name badge at me much to the amusement of the customers behind me who also seemed to enjoy the joviality going on. I gave Thomas and the couple behind me my business card and went on my merry way. I am now home and about to have my tea and then I will zoom off to exchange books with another team member as I need more preschool books for tomorrow and Helen has lots!! Between the team here on the Isle of Wight we can cater for most “Usborne” requests immediately as we have a lot of stock. If not then it doesn’t take long for orders to arrive.
During the afternoon, Reg Foster of Equity Insurance, rang to update me on the best insurance for my business and has manged to reduce my bill considerably. Well done Reg, who is also a member of the IBN.
Well, the day has been quite exciting so far with new aquaintances and new recruits. Two new recruits today. Apart from Maria on the Island, Denise has signed up in Spain. She was another referral from the IBN group – recommended by Graeme Jeremy who provides an excellent man (men ) and van service 5 star transport.
some merriment in Tesco and lots of chatting on the phone.

Tonight, I will probably catch up with team members who have news to share.
In between, I am keeping an eye on my Usborne points to see if I am a little nearer winning my Usborne freebie trip to Mexico and Miami – and they call this work!!!!!!!! Anyone over 18 can join so get in touch if you want to be your own boss and control your own hours.

I have also caught up with two of my three children and managed to fit in a call to my lovely parents!

Yesterday was Tuesday again

Yesterday was Tuesday again and I set up again (for the third Tuesday in a row) at the Orchard Holiday Park in Newbridge. My Usborne books were available to the holiday makers and staff from 9 am – 7 pm . Some people were interested in earning an extra income when they returned home and so I gave them information about our Usborne Home based business opportunity . Helen, who I met on my first visit 2 weeks ago, has joined and had her first event last night. She held a successful home book party , in Gosport and has achieve her first incentive. Well done Helen!

I will be back, with my books, at the Orchard Holiday park next Tuesday.

The Orchards Holiday Park

Yesterday, I set up shop in the room above the takeaway at the Orchard Holiday Park. I was invited by Debbie, to display my lovely Usborne Books. I had a very successful day and was able to make a generous donation which Debbie and her staff are putting towards the Barely Born Appeal. I enjoyed my day and actually recruited one of the holiday makers, Helen and by the time she returns home, her starter kit will be on its way. She is a child minder and the Usborne Home based business opportunity will compliment this beautifully. A big Usborne welcome to Helen.

Homeward bound

We are on the homeward stretch. We visited Guernsey today – we missed lunch but were in time for yet another gorgeous afternoon tea aboard the QE2!! Now I have to go and pack as we will be back in Southampton tomorrow morning and then its back to work. Many thanks to the super staff on the QE2

Yet even more super food. Will need to do some serious dieting when I return!!

Off to meet with fellow Rotarians shortly then another lazy day aboard the QE2. We are at sea today before berthing at St Petersport tomorrow, our last stop before coming home. I hope my Usborne team are all getting off to a cracking start in May, the national story telling month. I shall have a few stories to tell on my return. Bye for now. More later.
