I have both Barefoot and Child’s Play and not only do I have beautiful children’s books but also puppets/jigsaws/games. I have fan pages on facebook for Barefoot and Child’s Play and Iwill  have a Child’s Play online shop . Contact me if you would like to know when this is up and running.

If you would like a book party but can’t find the time or don’t have the room, I have a solution. I can set up a virtual party for you. Likewise I can set up fundraising book events for charities too.

Schools/organisations can become fundraisers with Barefoot which means they can have all the profit for the group with commissions from 20%-50% it is an attractive option and if they then tell other schools – they can benefit from that too.

This morning I will be taking a display of Usborne books to my dentist surgery. My dentist, Tony Wenzel, has agreed to host a rack of books . The proceeds will benefit the Barely Born Appeal a cause close to Tony’s heart as his own child was in the neo natal unist straight after birth.

Come and visit Nikki and Ang on the Usborne book stand at Ladies Day . They will have a beautiful display of Usborne books. At 1 pm I will be invited onto stage to tell you about the Magic of Usborne and how it can help mums,dads, children , schools, organistations and charities. Hear how you can join our fun-loving Usborne team and earn extra money. Local businesses can donate books to local schools under our community book pledge.  Enter our free prize draw.

There is a goodie bag for the first 50 ladies through the door. Gents can come too. See you there – come and support as all proceeds are going to Clic Sargant children’s cancer charity.

May is National story telling month. Around the country I have a team of Usborne represntatives who are waiting to tell you a story -or your little ones or even your bigger ones.  We can come and tell stories and could also combine this with a fundraiser. How about getting some FREE books for your group or even some cash or books for your favourite charity.

We could even possible arrange some crafts around the story. Do get in touch before our diaries are full

I would love to organise a Born to Read/Listen Event to raise funds for the Barely Born appeal We could have a big sponsored read/listen across the Island and raise lots for the charity. Get in touch if you want more details. Usborne have provided us with all the paperwork we need so it can be very easy to arrange.

Tonight I went to Quay street methodist church in Newport for the quiz night being run to raise funds for Headway (Brain injury awareness). Anna Morgan Crockett had invited me to set up a display of books. During the coffee break I made some sales and was able to make a donation to the fuds. I also joined in the quiz and was even on the winning team. I had a great evening. I also found that I made some good connections for further opportunities to sell and fundraise at the same time.

It was a very busy day but as it was nice and sunny it helped me get through the day.  I love my Usborne job and there are always thigs to do. If I am not out selling then I am at home promoting the business and booking more events or typing invoices for books supplied to surestart groups of ringing schools about book fairs. Today I didn;t leave the house but was just busy, busy . busy!!

I booked a sale at the Isle of Wight College, made a provisional booking with a school and wrote to news editor at Isle of Wight radio. I started a long invoice for books supplied to a Surestart group and then had an attack of the sneezes and hey red nose day was Friday but not according to my nose now!!

I chatted on facebook to members of my team and shared some humour. Life is so about having fun!!!  I was intending to go to bed at 10 and here it is now at 1.30 and I am still awake.I was just going when a film started and I got hooked. Then I realised I hadn’t  blogged and now I have just remembered I need to bid for the business builder leads – a priviledge for Usborne executive club members. I will finally get to bed about 2 and if I dont sneeze then I might get to sleep and then up at 6 for Business at breakfast!! I so enjoy what I do. Well maybe not the sneezing bit!!!!!

Rotary club – Vectis Sunrise

Wednesday morning and it was up early again for members of the Vectis Sunrise Rotary Club. It was club council day and we discussed, over breakfast which of the Islands event we would attend to fundraise for our chosen charities. Our skittles night tonight has been postponed until 18th when there will be lots of fun and frivolity!!
