I am Lyn and after 30 years as a teacher I decided to leave the stresses and stains behind and do something that was fun and exciting. I am now an Independent Representative for Usborne Books. I do what I want, when I want and where I want and I am having a great time. I am a people’s person and love helping others. I am also a Rotarian and am currently the President of the Vectis Sunrise Rotary Club which meet for breakfast at the Riverside Club in Newport on a Wednesday. Then like a mad fool, I get up again early on Thursday to have breakfast in the same place where I meet with all my fellow members of the Island Business Network Group. Foolish or not, I have to say this is really working for me and I have made so many good connections through the group. On Friday I have a lie-in!! I am a Methodist and attend Garfield Road Methodist church on Sundays which I really enjoy. I am a member of the Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce and of Business Link. The networking on the Island is brilliant. Word of mouth has to be the best recommendation for anyone.
Take a good look around and you will see how through my business I am helping charities as well as making many friends and having lots of fun. You will see I follow Maggie Currie’s advice www.creedencetraining.co.uk and have “me time” I make time to “do lunch” with her or meet my friend Pauline for a swim or chat over coffee with my great friend, Polly of the Rainbow directory www.theRainbowDirectory.co.uk I also love to visit my beautiful twin grandaughters, Nicola and Charlotte in London (and their mummy Natasha and their daddy Craig) They will soon be a year old and how that time has flown.
If you would like me to know how Usborne can benefit you or your family or your favourite charity or if you would like more information about becoming a Rotarian (our motto is Service above Self) of about joining The Island Business Network, The Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce or Business Link then get in touch and I can point you in the right direction.
