My goodness!

Oh dear, I haven’t blogged since 22nd September that’s nearly 2 weeks. A lot has happened and I have been very, very busy!
I have been to Basingstoke for one of Val’s brilliant Usborne training days. I went with Angela and Claire. Then I went to a networking evening at the Lakeside restautant which has recently opened for business. I would like to say a big thank you to the owners as they have also made a generous donation of Usborne books to Oakfield school as have David Acheson of Locallife, Peter Tomlinson and Jon Carter of Beta Pak, Joanna of Fusion Arts and Tina and Di
Angela and I will be running a book fair at Oakfield school on Monday and it will have a fairytale theme. We will have lots of Usborne books on display and we will have plenty of bargains to tempt the parents.
I also fitted in a two day trip to do granny duty and had a lovely time with the girls. We walked in the park and collected conkers and watched squirrels! It was super.
I set up another book sale at the Badgers (junior part of St Johns ambulance) fun day at Binstead and sold more books there.
The last day of the month was quite an interesting day. It was the last day of an Usborne travel incentive - a trip to Mexico and Miami and I was still quite a long way off but thanks to a lot of my new Usborne organisers who put on orders, the points came in and I achieved the points (about 12 points over) and 25 minutes to spare - the cut off was midnight. I thought I was a last minute lil but 3 girls came in after midnight - the last one at 11.55 pm!!!!! On Wednesday next, on or executive club day out, the company will confirm the winners!

Angela is a superstar - she helped me sort out the books in the stock room!! I am exhibiting at Olympia next week at the Early Years Teaching exhibition . It was a big task and she left my house at silly o’clock but good job well done.

I set up another display for the parents at Shalfleet school and more lovely books were sold in this, the National Year of Reading.

It has been a very busy time and we are now approaching Book week which again will be busy with book fairs etc.
I am just now preparing to go and promote everything “Usborne” at the Big day out in Freshwater tomorrow.
I don’t think I ought to leave such a big gap betweens blogs next time!!

  1. The afternoon at Oakhill was lovely. Most of the children had dressed up and whilst we were setting up we were treated to some lovely singing. Parents were also there and at the end of the afternoon they came with the children and bought their books.

  2. I think you mean Oakfield don’t you!!!

  3. Lyn you are so right, many apologies to Oakfield. I am geting my fields and hills mixed, but it was certainly OAKFIELD School.
